Laura Hougham
It was a desire to enrich her knowledge of various cultures through worldly experiences that sparked Laura's interest to travel to developing countries in 2008. After having spent a number of weeks working with a local Cambodian in a remote village, bringing supplies and learning about the trials and tribulations of the people, her passion to help those in need grew immensely. In the summer of 2010 she spent 3 months volunteering in Tanzania, where she met Pastor Maruchu and his wife Eileen, and witnessed first hand accounts of some of the most severe levels of poverty. She is currently working towards completing her Bachelor of Arts Degree, majoring in International Studies. Laura aspires to be involved in international aid and sustainable development projects with the UN and continuing to develop her own organization.
Jennilee Brack
In 2009, Jennilee graduated from Royal
Roads University with a Bachelor of Commerce in Entrepreneurial Management. She
spent 2010 living in Seoul, Korea working as an English teacher and learning
Hangul in her spare time. Since she was a teenager, Jennilee has dreamed of working with the UN in developing countries. This evolved into researching sustainable approaches for people in Africa. Learning about sustainable development and what that means to
poverty stricken regions especially interests her. She believes that with passion, hard-work, and a sense of humor there are no limits to what a person can achieve. Jennilee is excited to have the opportunity to work with like-minded individuals towards our common goal of improving education and nutrition in Tanzania.
Sandra Paulin
Since graduating secondary school in 2002 Sandy has spent much of her time abroad exploring and learning about different
cultures around the world. In 2006 she found herself in East Africa.
This experience changed her whole view of the world. She was left with
an understanding that it's truly luck of the draw where you end up
being born in this world. We are not all fortunate enough to be born in
first world countries with all the resources we need. Since visiting
East Africa and meeting wonderful people, its been her life long dream
to return and give back to the communities that touched her heart. Now
with a Bachelor Degree in Commerce she aspires to work in a non-profit
organization; and help as many children as possible gain the right to
food, shelter and education, while enabling communities to become
sustainable.
